Same-day junk removal in Columbia Heights
Columbia Heights is dense apartment stock. Nearly every building here has four or more units, which means DC bulk collection is off the table by rule.
What makes Columbia Heights different
Access is what actually moves the price. These are the things we plan around on this specific set of blocks.
Columbia Heights specifics
- Four-plus unit buildings are required to use a licensed private hauler — this is the single most useful fact for renters here.
- Most buildings have an elevator but require a reservation and a certificate of insurance from the vendor.
- 14th Street loading is congested; morning windows load meaningfully faster.
Access notes
- Elevator reservation and COI paperwork should be arranged before the appointment.
- Loading-zone availability drives the schedule more than the load size.
- Walk-up buildings without elevators add stair labor.

Why city bulk trash usually will not solve it in Columbia Heights
DPW's own guidance excludes buildings of four or more units, condominiums and co-ops from bulk collection entirely.
Check the municipal program first
If you have one or two items and can get them to the curb yourself, the municipal program is cheaper than we are and we will tell you so.

Columbia Heights loads go to Fort Totten Transfer Station, roughly 15 minutes from here. Furniture in resale condition is offered to a donation partner first.

Not every job is a truckload. One mattress, one fridge or one couch is a real load size with its own starting price.
